Shock Absorption System

Shock Absorption System
The most common shock absorption system is called "Incabloc" and was created around the 1930's. A shock absorption system is accomplished by using the flat jewel and end stone are spring loaded in the main plate and balance cock. This absorption system protects the delicate pivots on the balance staff from breakage.

With modern technology, the shock absorption system is now built in to the main-case. This now makes the main-case a multi-piece case. The case now floats instead of staying still.
