There are some gemstones that can be cleaned with and ultrasonic cleaner, some can be cleaned with heated cleaner and some can only be cleaned with mild facial soap and water. Instead of confusing you and making you remember which gemstones need special care I decided just to make everything easy to remember.
What you need to clean all your gemstones:
1- cotton face cloth
2- mild soap (bar or pump)
3- warm water (distilled better but tap okay)
4- cotton hand towel
How to clean all your gemstones:
1- lather up your face cloth with soap and warm water
2- rinse and wring out face cloth so there is little soap and water on cloth
3- gently rub gemstones
4- rinse face cloth thoroughly and wring out
5- gently rub gemstones
6- repeat 4 & 5 until all beads are free of soap
7- hand towel dry
8- air dry until dry
If you have metal beads and gemstone beads together:
1- rub down metal beads with a PakieMak cleaning cloth
2- lather up your face cloth with soap and warm water
3- rinse and wring out face cloth so there is little soap and water on cloth
4- gently rub gemstones and metal beads
5- rinse face cloth thoroughly and wring out
6- gently rub gemstones and metal beads
7- repeat 5 & 6 until all beads are free of soap
8- hand towel dry
9- air dry until dry
If you have gemstones mounted or strung in hard to reach areas... it is okay to use a SOFT tooth brush to remove any soil. Rub gently with the tooth brush so you do not scratch gemstones and metals.
Pearl Care:
Pearls are "water" gems meaning they are born in the water, with or without human intervention. It is very important that all pearl jewelry stays as dry as possible and free of perfumes, perspiration, water, food items, intense heat, intense pressure and ALL CLEANERS!!! DO NOT USE CLEANERS OR ULTRASONIC!!
Pearls should be the "FIRST THING OFF AND LAST ONE ON". Meaning after you dress, moisturize, perfume is applied your pearls then should be put on and the first one off while undressing. If you use perfumes on your neck or chest please wait 1-5 minutes to let perfume dry before putting on pearls.
