Like all Breguets, the hands are a stunning blue and is just as beautiful as the rest of the timepiece. When you are serious about buying timepieces to collect and share, any Breguet should be represented in your collection, and this one should be there... unless you collect Tourbillons.

This Breguet Grande Complication Equation of Time's dial will never stop entertaining your eyes. There is so much going on and the attention to detail is remarkable. The lugs are designed not to take away from the case, and done to perfection. I can't say anymore! I am a Breguet fan and have not been let down yet on their timepieces.

The new Type XXI (aka Breguet Transatlantique Type 21) features an automatic movement with a Flyback chronograph function. The chronograph allows instant restarting of the chronograph with a single push of the button instead of the need to stop & then reset the stop-watch. It also features large minute counter rather than the traditional sub-dial, in its place (at the 3 position) is a 24 hour subdial to differentiate between AM & PM. The date window is now displayed at the 6 position which needs a little getting used to.

As other Breguets, you get a world renown timepiece that has all the details covered. The only thing that I can see is it is too brown. With timepieces becoming more and more a fashion accessory, the color will be too much as an accent piece. Instead it has to be a part of the outfit and not just another "splash" of brown. The reverse stitching on the band is an absolutely a beautiful touch and it complements the detail to the crown. The size is definitely a nice manly size but not over-the-top-cheap-looking timepiece. The fit is great. The strap is a warm addition to your wrist.

A pillar of watchmaking tradition, Breguet has a long and distinguished lineage. Its founder, Abraham-Louis Breguet is considered by many as the father of watchmaking. Indeed, he is one of the greatest horologists of all time. Since 1775, clients have included Napoleon Bonaparte, Marie-Antoinette, Winston Churchill, Alexander Dumas, Princes, Dukes, Sultans and Kings. Breguet's influence on watchmaking is unequaled. He perfected the self-winding watch, created the first oil-free escapement, incorporated the first shock absorber into a timepiece, developed perpetual date mechanisms, and invented and patented the Tourbillon. Signature Breguet styling is evident in today's masterpieces; blue steel hands, guilloche engraving, and the fluted band.

The Tourbillon mechanism was invented more than 200 years ago by Abraham-Louis Breguet... the "godfather" of all Tourbillons. The Tourbillon is one of the most difficult watches to make and is extremely complex and cost-intensive. The Tourbillons purpose is to compensate the negative effect on the precision of a watch due to the Earth's gravitation. The Tourbillon ensures that the watch keeps perfect time. The Tourbillon system consisted of assembling all the escapement parts - pallets wheel, pallets and balance - in a small mobile cage that rotates in one regular cycle in one direction (one rotation per minute), thus passing by every position.
